City Clerk's Office

records.jpgThe City Clerk's Office is the hub for City records, historical documents, and election materials. These City records are made available to both in-house personnel and to outside individuals who are researching projects or regulations. These records include Minutes, Resolutions, Ordinances, and various reports dealing with City business. The City Clerk is responsible for preparing the agendas and documenting the minutes for not only the City Council meetings, but also the meetings conducted by the Housing Authority, Agency for Community Development, and Sanitary District.

Claims that are filed against the City and Subpoenas for records are received and processed by the City Clerk's Office. Bid Openings for public improvement projects such as sewer replacement, street medians, and street rehabilitation, are conducted by the City Clerk. The City Clerk's Office is responsible for advertising public hearings and other necessary publications in a local newspaper in a timely manner. Individuals in the City Clerk's Office work very closely with not only the Mayor and City Council, but also with the City Manager and the City Attorney. The Council's mail is processed by the City Clerk's Office. Fair Political Practice Commission filings for the Mayor, City Council, and certain City employees are initiated and processed by the City Clerk. In November of each even numbered year, or as necessary, an election is conducted jointly with the Orange County Registrar. The City Clerk is the keeper of the City Seal.

The City Clerk's Office also handles all of your passport needs. Just make an appointment and they will be happy to assist you. Fees for all services are listed in the Master Fee Schedule.
