Home Rehabilitation Loans and Grants

Neighborhood Improvement is offering various home improvement loan and grant programs for Garden Grove residents.

Please see below for further information regarding the City's Senior Citizen Home Rehabilitation Grants, Mobile Home Rehabilitation Grants and Rehabilitation Loan programs.

Senior Home Rehabilitation Grants
Qualifying, low income seniors living in Garden Grove, ages 62 and over, may receive a grant of up to $5,000 for exterior property improvements, such as:

  • Roof repair,
  • Windows,
  • Exterior painting, and
  • Garage door work.

All work must be completed by a City-approved licensed contractor.

Grant recipients must wait at least five years to become eligible for a new grant.

Mobile Home Grants
Mobile Home Grants are only available to Garden Grove residents who meet the low- to moderate-income requirements.

This grant is for up to $5,000 in exterior improvements, such as:

  • Roof repair,
  • Exterior painting, windows, and
  • Patio or stair repairs.

All work must be completed by a City-approved licensed contractor.

Grant recipients must wait at least five years to become eligible for a new grant.

Mobile Home Rehabilitation Application

Rehabilitation Loan
Qualifying, low to moderate-income Garden Grove residents, may receive an Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Loan of up to $10,000. The loans are funded with Redevelopment Housing Set-Aside funds. The loan is a 15-year deferred payment subordinate trust deed loan (no monthly payments required) not to exceed $10,000. Simple interest of 3% annually is accrued for the life of the loan.

Building Code violations and structural deficiencies are considered a priority and will take priority over other requested and approved repairs

All work must be completed by a City-approved licensed contractor.
