Why do some people achieve great success, despite hardships, while others crumble at the slightest sign of negativity? Award-winning Australian speaker Terry Hawkins is set to answer this and other questions at this year's Food for Thought luncheon, presented by the Garden Grove Community Foundation.
The year's Food for Thought luncheon will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at the Marriott Suites, located at 12015 Harbor Boulevard, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Hawkins will present "Why Wait to be Great! It's Either Now or Too Late!" to 225 local high school students, sharing her inspirational message with the goal of providing strategies to positively alter the way they think and feel forever.
Entrepreneur, author, and mother of two, Hawkins is the founder and owner of People in Progress Global, an international multi-million dollar corporation that educates and trains business professionals. She is a masterful educator in attitudinal and mind-set change.
The Food for Thought luncheon brings members of the Garden Grove business community and guest speakers together to mentor local high school students. The GGCF encourages participation from local businesses as well as sponsoring students to attend the lunch. Admission to the event, or student sponsorships, is $25 per person. Reservations to the event must be made by Thursday, October 17, 2013.
The event is sponsored by the City of Garden Grove, Garden Grove Disposal, and GKN Aerospace.
