Police Department to Coordinate Multi-Agency Homeless Outreach Event

The Garden Grove Police Department is teaming up with law enforcement agencies from Westminster, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and Anaheim to coordinate an event providing assistance to the homeless community. The event takes place on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 7861 Garden Grove Boulevard, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Services such as shelter housing, recovery assistance, mental health treatment, employment, and veteran services will be available for the homeless.

 
City Celebrates Parks and Recreation Month with Free Open Houses

The National Recreation and Park Association, California Park and Recreation Society, and the City of Garden Grove proclaim July as Parks and Recreation Month. In celebration of Parks and Recreation Month, several recreation facilities will have free admission on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

 
Magnolia Street Irrigation Project to Run Through November
Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Starting Monday, July 11, Magnolia Street, between Westminster Avenue and Trask Avenue, and between Lampson Avenue and Chapman Avenue, will experience slow traffic conditions due to irrigation modifications. The tentative completion date for the project is November 18, 2016.

Traffic will be reduced to two through lanes between Westminster Avenue and Trask Avenue. Between Lampson Avenue and Chapman Avenue, lanes will be reduced to one through lane and one left turn lane to facilitate the construction work.

 
2016 Cities Flag Ceremony at the OC Fair

The OC Fair has invited all 34 Orange County cities to participate in a Community Flag Salute. On Garden Grove’s day, Friday, July 29, the Mayor and City Council will lead fairgoers in singing the National Anthem at 12:30 p.m. To show support for Garden Grove, community members are encouraged to wear blue and white to highlight the city.

 
City Hall Closed on Independence Day
Monday, June 20, 2016

In observance of the Independence Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2016. No street sweeping services will be provided on the holiday. Streets will be swept as scheduled on all other days. Also, trash pick-up will be delayed by one day.

Diamond Jubilee Celebration Shines Day And Night
