Knott Street, from Garden Grove Boulevard to Lampson Avenue, is set to undergo street improvements beginning Tuesday, July 26, 2016 through October. Also, a small segment on Valley View Street, from the 22 Freeway westbound off-ramp to Tiffany Avenue, is tentatively set to undergo improvements from August through December.

Giddy-up to Garden Grove’s 2016 free Summer Concert Series, hosted by the Garden Grove Community Foundation. Gold Rush Country makes their debut by playing contemporary country music on Thursday, July 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event takes place at Eastgate Park, located at 12001 St. Mark Street.
The Garden Grove City Council, Housing Authority, Successor Agency, and the Sanitary District meetings are cancelled for July 26 and August 23. The next dates will be on August 9 and September 6.

The community is invited to an evening under the stars with free activities and a movie, on Wednesday, August 17, in Village Green Park at the corner of Main and Euclid. The featured movie, Minions, begins at 8:00 p.m. Entertainment for the family begins at 6:30 p.m., including bounce houses, carnival games, and more.
The Garden Grove Police Department is teaming up with law enforcement agencies from Westminster, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and Anaheim to coordinate an event providing assistance to the homeless community. The event takes place on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 7861 Garden Grove Boulevard, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Services such as shelter housing, recovery assistance, mental health treatment, employment, and veteran services will be available for the homeless.
The National Recreation and Park Association, California Park and Recreation Society, and the City of Garden Grove proclaim July as Parks and Recreation Month. In celebration of Parks and Recreation Month, several recreation facilities will have free admission on Thursday, July 21, 2016.
