At tonight’s special meeting of the Garden Grove City Council, the City Council concluded a five-month nationwide search by unanimously appointing Scott C. Stiles as the new city manager. Stiles, a former assistant city manager for the City of Cincinnati, Ohio, officially begins his city manager position with the City of Garden Grove on Monday, August 3, 2015.

The City’s main meeting facility for public and private events, as well as Garden Grove City Council and City Commission meetings, is now temporarily closed while interior renovations take place. The Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue is tentatively scheduled to re-open in early 2016.
The Garden Grove Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Driver License Checkpoint on Friday, June 19, 2015 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
At the conclusion of the 42nd annual Garden Grove Pride Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 1, 2015, the winning home in the “Best Home & Garden” contest was revealed. Zone 16, belonging to Patrick and Valerie Sullivan, on Dunklee Lane took the top honor. The week prior to the Ceremony, the community was invited to participate in an online voting contest to pick the best-looking home in Garden Grove.
On Monday, June 15, 2015 at 4:30 p.m., Board Members from the Garden Grove Community Foundation (GGCF), Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from Garden Grove Hyundai will present a $25,000 check to Chris Reidel, who participated in the 11th Annual Foundation/Chamber Golf Classic held on May 6, 2015.
Careless Motorists As Well As Riders Get Special Scrutiny
Garden Grove seniors are invited to celebrate Father's Day with a fun-filled event that includes dancing, food, and special treats, sponsored by Scan Health Plan. The event will take place in the Senior Center Dining Room, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue, on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Lunch will also be available for a suggested donation of $3.50 per person. "The Serenaders" will provide live music.
The H. Louis Lake Senior Center will host a free movie night on Thursday, June 11, 2015 starting at 5:00 p.m., in the Senior Center Dining Room, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.
All seniors are invited to enjoy free dinner, refreshments and the movie "Taken 3," starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, and Forest Whitaker. The event is sponsored by Monarch HealthCare.
