Drivers Get Important Lesson During Police School Bus Operation

As part of the City’s Accident Reduction Campaign, the Garden Grove Police Department conducted a school bus operation on Friday, September 8, 2017. The purpose of the operation was to educate drivers on the importance of stopping for school buses that are stopped to load and unload students. The operation was funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

 
City to Participate in Orange County’s Major Business Expo 2017

The City of Garden Grove’s Economic Development Division will be participating in Orange County’s Major Business Expo, sponsored by Relationship Building Network (RBN). The expo takes place on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Great Wolf Lodge Southern California, located at 12681 Harbor Boulevard.

Members of the Economic Development division will provide information on investment and development opportunities available in Garden Grove, as well as network with other business exhibitors and participants.

Hundreds of Needy Students Benefit from City’s Back to School Drive

The annual Back to School Drive, hosted in recent months by the Buena Clinton Youth & Family Center and the Magnolia Park Family Resource Center, provided 300 Garden Grove students with backpacks and school supplies.

 
H. Louis Lake Senior Center to Celebrate National Senior Center Month in September

The Garden Grove H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be hosting a free event on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate National Senior Center Month. The theme for 2017 is “Masters of Aging.” The event takes place at the H. Louis Lake Senior Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.

 
City Hosts Small Business Jump-Start Workshop

The City of Garden Grove’s Economic Development Division will be hosting a Small Business Jump-Start workshop, in partnership with the Orange County Small Business Development Center. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue. Registration is $10.

The workshop will cover the fundamentals of starting a business. Topics include: how to start a business; resources; how much capital is needed to launch; and more.

The City of Garden Grove’s Economic Development Division will be hosting The Art and Science of Creating a Successful Business Plan, in partnership with the Orange County Small Business Development Center. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue. Registration is $25.
