grilled-cheese-soundwich.jpgThe nights are heating up at Garden Grove’s free Summer Concert Series, hosted by the Garden Grove Community Foundation. Today’s concert will feature music from the 90’s to today’s popular hits, by the Grilled Cheese Soundwich. Calling themselves, “Easily the tastiest sound bite in town,” this is the band’s first appearance at the series, taking place at Eastgate Park, 12001 St. Mark Street, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Arrive half an hour early, at 6:00 p.m., to watch the 4th season of the Voice of Garden Grove, a vocal event for local high school students. Four students representing La Quinta, Pacifica, Rancho Alamitos, and Santiago high schools will compete for a chance to move onto the finals on August 13, for a shot at winning a $500 cash award and another $500 donation towards their school’s choir program.

During the first half of the night, concert goers are encouraged to participate in the City of Garden Grove’s social media challenge. Any tweets or Instagram photos taken at the concert with the hashtag, #ggsummerconcerts, will be automatically entered into the competition. The Twitter user with the most retweets and the Instagram user with the most likes on their post will win a special giveaway. Winners will be announced at intermission.

Various vendors will be selling food, beverages and dessert to concert goers, including local gourmet food trucks, such as the Burger Monster, Classic Taco, Crepes Bonaparte, and Dogzilla.

For the safety and enjoyment of all, no canopies, golf carts, or alcohol is permitted in the park.

The 2015 free Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the City of Garden Grove, AT&T Services, GKN Aerospace, and Republic Services.
