Photo 2.jpg.jpgAt Garden Grove’s final summer concert, the winner of the Voice of Garden Grove was chosen among five local high school students. The Voice of Garden Grove and $500 cash prize winner was Kang Lo from Bolsa Grande High School. Lo sang “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. A donation of $500 went to Bolsa Grande High School’s choral program, accepted by Bolsa Grande’s choir teacher, Mr. Keltner.

Daniel Luong from La Quinta High School was announced runner-up and received a $250 cash prize. Luong performed “Greased Lightning” made famous by the movie “Grease.” Another donation for $250 was given to La Quinta High School’s choral program.

The students were scored on 100-point scale by five judges, including Garden Grove City Council Member and President of the Garden Grove Community Foundation, Steve Jones.

The Garden Grove Community Foundation supports education and the arts in the community. The Voice of Garden Grove is a way for the Foundation to provide performance and scholarship opportunities to local high school students.
