BeFunky_mooimages-136.jpgThe City of Garden Grove will offer a CPR/First Aid/AED certification class by EMS Safety Services, Inc., on Saturday, March 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at North Net Fire Training Center. The cost for the class is $25. Class space is limited. Reservations for the CPR class must be made in advance by emailing Van Vu at vanv@ci.garden-grove.ca.us.

The CPR class takes place prior to the C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) four-Saturday training academy, which begins April 11. C.E.R.T. is a volunteer organization with the Garden Grove Fire Department that provides free community training on how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a disaster, as well as lend emergency support to first responders.

CPR students who continue and complete the CERT Training Academy will be refunded the $25 CPR fee.

C.E.R.T. training topics include disaster preparedness, medical operations, I.C.S. (Incident Command System), fire safety, light search and rescue, medical operations, terrorism, and disaster psychology. C.E.R.T. participants must be at least 18 years old and live and/or work in Garden Grove.
