It’s that time of year for Garden Grove’s 8th annual “Eggs-cavation” event on Saturday, March 26, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Atlantis Play Center. Atlantis Play Center is located at 13630 Atlantis Way in Garden Grove Park. Only 300 tickets for egg hunt participants are available.
Community members are invited to participate in the 40th anniversary celebration of the H. Louis Lake Senior Center. This free event is scheduled on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the H. Louis Lake Senior Center Dining Room, located at 11300 Stanford Avenue.
The highlight of this event is the unveiling of a special 40th anniversary mosaic, which is made from 2,400 pictures, with some of the photos taken in the early 90's. Other festivities include a cake cutting, dancing, and live music provided by ”The Serenaders."
With just four months away from the City’s 60th anniversary of incorporation, plans are in the works for a community celebration. The free event will take place on Saturday, June 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street.
The event will feature performances by students from the Garden Grove Unified School District, live music, games, and activities. The event will conclude with a special anniversary cake-cutting, with free cupcakes for attendees, while quantities last.
Speaking before a sell-out audience of nearly 400 attendees, Garden Grove Mayor Bao Nguyen gave high marks to technology, the economy, and quality-of-life, among other achievements, during today’s State of the City address.
The City of Garden Grove invites public participation in an upcoming community meeting to discuss the possible relocation or reconstruction of Fire Station No. 6, currently located at 12111 Chapman Avenue. The meeting is scheduled on Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at Walton Intermediate School, located at 12181 Buaro Street, Garden Grove, 92840.
The process of determining City districts for the 2016 elections continues with the first public hearing on Tuesday, January 26, at 6:30 p.m. The hearing takes place during the regular Garden Grove City Council meeting, at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, located at 12372 Main Street.
