Life saving Click It or Ticket Mobilization Begins - Garden Grove Police Department Kicks Off High Visibility Enforcement
The Garden Grove Police Department wants to remind motorists to Click It or Ticket. In order to enforce this reminder, beginning Monday, May 19, officers will be joining in the 2014 national seat belt enforcement mobilization and cracking down on motorists who are not belted.
The Garden Grove Fire Department, as one of eight Orange County fire agencies that comprise the Metro Cities Fire Authority, is participating in the trial launch of Pulsepoint, a mobile application intended to save victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Metro Cities Fire Authority, in cooperation with the Metro Cities dispatch center, is the first in Orange County to pilot this application.
The Garden Grove Public Works Department is hopping on board the social network bandwagon and rolling out its new Facebook page featuring useful information and services. The page can be found under Garden Grove Public Works Department. It features significant projects, events, power and water outages, real-time alerts, safety messages, and photos.
Spring is the perfect time of year to start digging and planting! Garden Grove residents short on planting space for vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers, have an opportunity to grow their own produce in the City of Garden Grove’s Community Garden, located at the northeast corner of Eighth Street and Garden Grove Boulevard.
At last night’s Garden Grove City Council meeting, the three winners of the Main Street logo design contest selected by the Main Street Commission were given cash prizes and congratulations. The artwork of Carina Dan, Tony L. Rivera, and Irah Mapaye placed first, second, and third, respectively.
In preparation of the impending rainy season, the City of Garden Grove reminds all residents of the availability of up to 10 free sand bags, on first-come, first serve basis, at the following city locations:
Fire Station #2, 11805 Gilbert Street
Fire Station #3, 12132 Trask Avenue
Fire Station #4, 12191 Valley View Street
Since last August, the public has been submitting ideas and images for the Re:Imagine Downtown campaign, the City of Garden Grove’s 20-year visioning for the civic center area, through an online forum called Mindmixer. Now, feedback will come face-to-face.
