Garden Grove Animal Care Services Coming January 1, 2017

The City will launch its new Garden Grove Animal Care Services program on January 1, 2017. The new program replaces services provided by OC Animal Care. Garden Grove’s newest program involves a partnership between the City and the OC Humane Society.

City Seeks Candidates for Six City Commissions

The City is seeking candidates to serve as non-compensated commissioners. Commissioners serve as advisors to the City Council, providing recommendations that become part of the City’s decision-making process. Applications must be submitted by January 9, 2017.

Business Owners Invited to State’s Free Tax Credit Workshop

Openings are available for business owners to attend the California Competes Tax Credit workshop hosted by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). The workshop will take place on December 14, 2016, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at 12732 Main Street.

Shop Local, Win $500

The community is encouraged to participate in the City’s end-of-year Buy in Garden Grove (BiGG) campaign, Black Friday Goes BiGG, starting on Friday, November 25, through Friday, December 16, 2016. For every $50 in total register receipts, Garden Grove shoppers will have the opportunity to win $500.

Garden Grove Fire Collecting Toys for Spark of Love

The Garden Grove Fire Department is participating in the Spark of Love Toy Drive. The event runs from November 21 through December 24. Donations of unwrapped toys and sporting equipment can be brought to any of the seven fire stations.

Outreach Event Brings Mobile Food Pantry to Local Neighborhoods

On Thursday, November 17, 2016, the City of Garden Grove’s Neighborhood Improvement Committee (NIC) hosted a free mobile food pantry and community outreach event to the Palma Vista and El Dorado neighborhoods.
