FALSE ALARM RESPONSE FEE
Maintenance and Service Personnel
All licensed fire alarm and suppression system installation, maintenance and/or repair companies are required to notify the Garden Grove Fire Department’s communication center of any work to be performed on a fire alarm and/or suppression system prior to commencement of work. Businesses, properties and occupancies in the City of Garden Grove that are monitored by an automatic fire alarm system (system) are required to maintain their system in a state of readiness in accordance with fire code regulations to promptly detect and notify the Garden Grove Fire Department of a fire or fire-related emergency.
A business, property and occupancy responsible party that fails to maintain their system causing a false alarm where the Garden Grove Fire Department is required to respond will be subject to a fine after their third false alarm and any thereafter in the same calendar year. The false alarm program begins at 8:00 a.m. (PST) on November 8, 2016 and will conclude at 7:59 a.m. on January 1, 2017. The new calendar year thereafter is from 8:00 a.m., January 1 – 7:59 a.m., January 1 the following year. The false alarm does not have to be for the same building or system if it belongs to the same business, property or occupancy.
