Of the thousands of calls, many leave family and friends in the wake of devastation and uncertainty when they lose a family member or everything they owned. Unfortunately, many of the incidents take a toll on members of the community and first responders.

 
City Hall Closed on Veterans Day

In observance of the Veterans Day holiday, Garden Grove City Hall and the H. Louis Lake Senior Center will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. No street sweeping services will be provided on the holiday. Streets will be swept as scheduled on all other days. Trash pick-up is still scheduled for that day.

New Fitness Equipment Installed at Eastgate Park

On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., Mayor Bao Nguyen and the Garden Grove City Council will officiate a ribbon cutting for the newly-installed fitness equipment at Eastgate Park, 12001 St. Mark Street.

The outdoor gym equipment employs the body’s mass for resistance regardless of the user’s fitness level. The fitness equipment is made up of various equipment such as combo bars, plyometric, also known as "jump training," in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time, parallel dip station, and lat pull-down.

 
City Offers New Online Communication Tool

Reporting issues to the City of Garden Grove is made easy with the City’s new online communication tool – Citizen Requests. Residents can now request City services, such as graffiti removal, pothole repair, or report water waste, via the City’s website or mobile app.

The Citizen Requests tool builds upon the City’s mission and vision to enhance transparency and efficiency through technology that increases community engagement and strengthens public safety.

 
City Seeks Proposals for Tet Fest 2016 Organizer

The City of Garden Grove seeks proposals from non-profit organizations to serve as producer of the 2016 Tet Festival in Garden Grove. The Tet Festival is one of the largest community celebrations in Garden Grove that attracts thousands of visitors over the Lunar New Year weekend. The deadline for submission is by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015.
