Five-Month Construction Project Begins on Brookhurst

logo_pw_0.pngFrom now through March 2015, Brookhurst Street, from Chapman Avenue to Katella Avenue in Garden Grove, will undergo roadway improvements. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to avoid congestion, however access for residents and businesses will be maintained. Normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

OC LULAC Recognizes City with Award

Last Friday, October 24, the City of Garden Grove was recognized with the “Community Partnership Award” by the Orange County LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) Foundation. The award was presented during the organization’s Black and White Banquet, held at the Anaheim Convention Center.

His predecessor, Chief Kevin Raney, will remain in the top spot through the end of 2014 to assist Elgin in the transition.

City Debuts "Around Town"

The City of Garden Grove is launching a new informative video series, "Around Town," the brain child of City Manager Matt Fertal. The messages are designed to give residents and business owners an inside look at what is happening in their community.

"Each episode will offer a quick glimpse into places and topics of interest around town. Some might be well known, while others might take you by surprise," said Fertal.
