Drivers Get Important Lesson During Police School Bus Operation

As part of the City’s Accident Reduction Campaign, the Garden Grove Police Department conducted a school bus operation on Friday, September 8, 2017. The purpose of the operation was to educate drivers on the importance of stopping for school buses that are stopped to load and unload students.

Permitting System for Recreational Vehicles Goes Live October 2

The City’s online permitting system for recreational vehicles parked on public and private streets will be available on Monday, October 2, 2017. Recreational vehicle owners may also request a permit in person at Garden Grove City Hall, located at 11222 Acacia Parkway. The Police Department’s Traffic Unit will not begin issuing citations until Monday, October 16, 2017.

City to Participate in Orange County’s Major Business Expo 2017

The City of Garden Grove’s Economic Development Division will be participating in Orange County’s Major Business Expo, sponsored by Relationship Building Network (RBN). The expo takes place on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Great Wolf Lodge Southern California, located at 12681 Harbor Boulevard.

Jack O’Lantern Jamboree Celebrates Halloween

The Garden Grove Community Services Department presents the 16th annual Jack O’Lantern Jamboree event on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Atlantis Play Center, 13630 Atlantis Way. Activities at the event include a train ride, carnival games, crafts, bounce houses, goodies, magic show, airbrushed tattoos, and an Instagram giveaway.

Hundreds of Needy Students Benefit from City’s Back to School Drive

The Back to School Drive, hosted by the Buena Clinton Youth & Family Center and the Magnolia Park Family Resource Center, provided 300 students with backpacks and school supplies. Through donated items and monetary donations, families were assisted with the expense of preparing their children to go back to school.

New Parking Area for Garden Grove City Hall

Effective immediately, the parking lot located across from Garden Grove City Hall, 11222 Acacia Parkway, will be designated for City staff only. City Hall visitor parking will be available in the parking lot alongside the Garden Grove Fire Department, 11301 Acacia Parkway. In addition, visitors may park in front of City Hall for 15 to 20 minutes in the designated area.
