Take a look and see what it's all about, and ask yourself this question...

Why not me?

Work a variety of different details...

Garden Grove Police Department Reserve Officers work a variety of details such as Gang Suppression, Transportation, DUI Checkpoints, and Background Investigations, just to name a few. With all these options, you are assured of a job that is always new and exciting with room to grow. And at the same time, you can keep the job you already have.

Assist full time specialty officers...

If your idea of real police work is just hitting the streets, then Patrol is the place for you. You will be right in the middle of the action. If you choose, you can work with an officer who has a specialty assignment such as K-9, DUI enforcement, or the Neighborhood Improvement Teams which target specific problem areas. Garden Grove Police Department has its own Reserve Bike Patrol. These officers work specific problem areas to enforce the law. The bikes serve not only as high visibility to the community, but help when approaching unsuspecting criminals.

Unlike other departments where reserves donate their time, we compensate you for your hours of service. We even have our own police units which are specially equipped for our needs.

We also work with organizations, such as the Elks Lodge, to host a variety of events, from Bicycle Safety Rodeos for kids, to hamburger cook-offs.

Give something back to the community...

Maybe you just feel like you want to give something back to the community, or you have always wondered what it would be like. Whatever your reason is, we have the job for you!
