Narrative: On May 12, 2013 at 1300 hours victim is shopping in market when suspect walks by and attempts to take a $10 bill from victim’s hand. The bill ripped while trying to take it. The suspect started to fight with the victim. During the fight the suspect hit the victim over the head with a glass bottle from a sales display. The victim sustained 2 lacerations to his head and required 6 staples. The suspect fled on foot.

Narrative: On Friday, 8-3-13, victim parked his vehicle on street in front of his apartment complex. He came out the following morning and found the vehicle gone. The above image is from a red light camera in Santa Ana at 0340 hrs, the morning of the theft and is likely the auto thief. The vehicle was later recovered in Santa Ana. The vehicle was stolen a second time on 11-28-12 and recovered in Orange the next day. Victim believes likely the same suspect.

Narrative: On Tuesday 04/02/2013 between 1742-1800 hours, the above listed suspects were observed via surveillance video entering the location, going to the electronics section and concealing hard drives in suspect #2’s purse. Both suspects proceed to the cash register where suspect #2 made an unrelated purchase. Both suspects left without paying for the hard drives.

On 04/05/2013 between 0800-0805 hours, suspect #1 returned to the location and was observed via surveillance video going to the electronics section and concealing a hard drive inside the front of his pants. Suspect #1 then exited the location without making an attempt to pay.

Narrative: On Monday 04/22/2013 at approximately 1525 hours, the above listed suspects entered the Costco located on 11000 Garden Grove Blvd. Both suspects were observed via surveillance video going to the laptop display kiosk. Suspect #1 acted as a lookout while suspect #2 checked out some of the laptops, removed cables to two (2) of the laptops and walked away with one (1) of the laptops in his cart. At approximately 1533 hours, the suspects then exited the store through the unmanned merchandise return entrance.

When the victim confronted the suspect, the victim discovered the suspect was intoxicated. The suspect then left the location on foot.

Narrative: Suspects entered a Resort Hotel during a medical conference. Suspect #2 is seen on video attempting to steal a conference identification badge from the registration table but was unsuccessful. All three suspects are able to make entry into the lecture meeting room during a session break. Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 walk several empty rows and steal several electronic devices left unattended while Suspect #3 watches the crowd. Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 leave and Suspect #3 remains for a short period and then leaves also. Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 are seen wondering the conference hallways and front lobby area for some time prior to entry.

Narrative: On 10/3/12 at approximately 0110 hours, the suspects pulled into a Resort Hotel on Harbor and left their vehicle near the entrance and entered the hotel. As the suspects waited at the elevator, suspect pulls a large frame black handgun from his waistband and displays it to his partners. The three suspect then go to an unknown floor and return to the lobby approximately eleven minutes later. The driver walks back out the valet where he steals five sets of keys. The three suspects then go to valet storage where they burglarize all five vehicles.

Narrative: On 2-1-12, a vehicle was stolen from Garden Grove. The above photo is from a red-light camera at the intersection of Sergerstrom Ave and Raitt St in the City of Santa Ana that was taken on Sunday, February 5, 2012. The vehicle was later recovered by the Santa Ana Police Department, but a suspect was not apprehended. The owner of the stolen vehicle brought this red-light photo to the Garden Grove Police Department, indicating neither he nor anyone in his family knows the subject in the photo.

Narrative: The suspects entered the store and began distracting the clerk. Both suspects are seen in the video looking in the back for the property and/ or additional employees. S#1 goes into the back after S#2 signals her that it’s clear. As S#1 goes into the back S#2 holds up a large shirt to block the view. S#1 enters the back of the store grabs the victims purse slips it under her skirt and attaches it to something under the skirt so that it is concealed. S#1 then goes back out into the public area of the store while S#2 uses the shirt to hide S#1 while she adjusts the purse under her skirt.

The suspect is at the ATM for approximately two (2) minutes. During this time he goes back and forth to the cab of his truck. The suspect does not use the ATM. The suspect leaves and later returns at 0648 hours, but only drives through the parking lot. The license plate on the vehicle comes back lost or stolen from Huntington Beach. The locks to the ATM were drilled.

Narrative: On April 18, 2011 officers were dispatched to 11912 Banner Drive in reference to a residential burglary. Upon officer’s arrival suspects had already fled. A neighbor reported that a male subject (S1) had walked over to him as he was watering his grass and asked for a money donation. A female subject (S2) was seen sitting on the curb across the street. After S1 was told “no” he walked over to the Victims residence and stood in the driveway. Another neighbor, W1, reported being in her kitchen and noticed S1 and S2 loitering in the area. Shortly after W1 saw (S1) jump over the Victims front gate. (S2) walking up to the front door and was seen walking away with a brown and pink flower purse. It was later identified as the victims’ stolen Louis Vuitton purse. W1 then saw (S1) walk out of the Victims front door and both suspects fled northbound on Roan St on foot.

Narrative: On March 25, 2011 at approximately 1650 hours two male Hispanics entered Grace Coin Laundry located at 13692 Euclid St. S1 and S2 loiter around game machines. Shortly after S3 appears and joins S1 and S2 at the game machines. S1 hands S2 a black backpack. S2 is seen reaching down into the backpack possibly reaching in for prying tools. Both S2 and S3 are seen tampering with the game machines while S1 is a look out. Eventually access is gained into game machines and approximately $300.00 worth of currency is taken. Owner of business arrives to location and confronts suspects, however, suspects flee in a grey Ford Explorer. License plate is similar to 5SRZ708.

Narrative: On 9-13-10 victims residence was burglarized and personal information such as ATM card, PIN #, SS card and personal checks were taken. It was later discovered that S1 had gone to the Bank of America located at Brookhurst/Westminster and deposited one of the victims personal checks in the amount of $3,500.00 and withdrew $100.00. S2 later returned to the same ATM and withdrew an additional $400.00. Several other transactions were completed before victim discovered the fraudulent activity.

On 09-16-10 S1 went to the Bank of America located at Brookhurst/Westminster and deposited another of victims personal check in the amount of $3,500.00. It is believed that later that day S1 and S2 withdrew money from ATM’s in the Hawaiian Garden area. Total loss $2,506.19.

Narrative: Detectives from the Garden Grove Police Department have been investigating a crime series where suspects pose as city employees from the water department. The suspects claim they are there to inspect the water for contamination and or check the water lines.

One suspect will distract the resident by bringing them outside while the other suspects enter and burglarize the residence for cash and or jewelry.

The suspects in all cases have targeted elderly residents. The suspects will be dressed in uniforms bearing name- tags or are dressed in plain clothes. The suspects on all occasions have produced some type of fraudulent City of Garden Grove identification.

Residents are advised to contact the police department at 714-741-5704 or the City’s water services division at 714-741-5395. City Employees will have city vehicles that are clearly designated as “Garden Grove” and employee uniforms are usually orange shirts with navy blue pants.
